8 -- Good work in class today, everyone. Remember that your I.R. Response Tic-tac-toe is due on Monday. Review the figurative language slides if you need more practice with them. You will have a quiz next week. We will finish the practice stations on Monday.

8B -- If you need to review the figurative language from last year plus idioms, you can use this slideshow. We will practice with figurative language in the next class, and you will have a quiz on next Thursday, Sept. 1. 7s -- Great class today, everyone. I really enjoyed playing Kahoot, and I am looking forward to more review games. Almost everyone had a book in class today. Find time to read a little each day. That will help you finish the book on time and complete the weekly activities that are due on Day 1s.

Independent Reading: Beginning next Wednesday, August 17, every student should have an Independent Reading book. This may be a paper book or an electronic book.
