8 -- Hello, everyone. Really good work in class today. At the end of today, everyone should have turned in your Citations practices 1 and 2. Also, you should have started your annotated bibliography prewrite in class. If you did not turn that in at the end, be sure to get it in before next class!
8A -- Hi, everyone. Today you did well on your citations practices. Remember, your second practice is using your sources for your documentary. Do not forget to include the expert interviews. Interviews: Use your AM recess and lunch to get interviews. Also, if you need to interview someone during Indie Time Friday, let me know before the end of AM recess Thursday.
7A -- Nice work with your outline notes today. Using an outline will help you organize your article, so it can be the best.
8 -- Today you began your interviews. Remember, the questions you ask your expert and the questions you ask your peers should be different. If you did not get an interview with someone, you still have two more class days this week. You can also interview people during recess, lunch, and Indie Time. If you want me to request you for Indie Time Friday, be sure to let me know by morning recess Thursday.
8 -- Hi, everyone. This is a reminder that you need to watch and complete the Interview Questions EDpuzzle video if you haven't already. You can find it here. Be sure you sign in. Also, if you did not turn in your first set of notes at the end of class, get that to me tomorrow. It is late with each day that passes!
7 -- Really great class today, everyone. You all did really well focusing on your notes. Be sure to finish the second source before class Friday.
7 -- Great work in your classes today, everyone. You all did well at identifying the different text features in your articles and sharing with the class. As you read about your 30-Day Challenge topic, think of different text features you can include in your article. 7 -- Hello, everyone. Really good work in your small groups today. Many of you are really doing well working as a team. We will finish the text features activity tomorrow. If you did not turn in your Initial research for your 30-Day Challenge article, turn it in tomorrow for up to 90%!
8 -- Hi, everyone. Great classes today. Good review on the text structures. On Thursday we will finish the practice we began in class today. Remember, if you did not turn in your initial research handout today, you should turn it in to the In-coming basket in the classroom as soon as you can. **Source for your Docu-fest project: If you are still looking for good sources for your project, try Pro/Con.org. They have a lot of good information and links to credible sources.
8 -- You all have had some awesome classes this week. Good work on your text structures and getting started on your documentary research. We will continue to practice with text structures, and you will have a quiz the week after next (Tuesday, February 21)!
7 -- Nice work over the last couple of classes. You are doing well at identifying text features. We will continue to work with these, as you will be incorporating them into your own 30-Day Challenge article. Remember, you will have a quiz on these the week after next on Wednesday, February 22! Today you worked really well on your initial research. Be sure to complete the last articles before our next class. Also, look for videos that you think will help your readers understand your topic better. Create a Google Doc to save the links.
8 -- Good afternoon, everyone. Good work on identifying credible sources today. As we continue with creating our documentaries, you will need to check each of your sources with the handout we used today to evaluate websites.
7 -- Get pumped up for your 30-Day Challenge! This weekend you should be thinking about what you want to do for the next 30 days. Pick something that will add something positive to your life, that is challenge, and that you can accomplish (remember, you will be doing this on Saturdays and Sundays, too!)
7 & 8 - Hello, everyone. You all did great work over the last couple of days. I know many of you are well into your Independent Reading books! As you work on your English MAP skills individually, I have seen how many of you are growing in those weaknesses. Keep up that focus! If you did not show me your MAP Practice 2, you will show that to me at the beginning of our next class. *Reminder, if you did not complete your annotations in the NewsELA article, you have until tomorrow afternoon to complete them. Then I am putting in the grades! *If you are finished with your I.R., you can complete the remaining Tic-Tac-Toes as soon as you want and turn them in. Also, go ahead and complete the final I.R. assignment. Then you can simply enjoy Independent Reading time. :)
8A & 8B -- Good work today, everyone. Working with non-fiction texts can be difficult. Now that you are highlighting and annotating, that adds more to the brain's plate! You will find today's agenda and homework below.
8B - Hello, everyone. You all did quite a bit of learning today in a really short amount of time! You should be proud. You will find today's agenda and homework below.
7B - Hello, everyone. Great job on annotation today, and in such a short amount of time! You will find today's agenda and homework below.
7A - Hello, everyone. You all did really great today and should be proud. Annotation can be complex, but your class is off to a great start! You will find today's agenda and homework below.
8A - Hello, everyone. You all did quite a bit of learning today. You should be proud. There is more to annotating than perhaps we knew! It is awesome that many of you are open to a new way of talking with a text...even if it may seem ludicrous to talk to a page in a book! You will find today's agenda and homework below.
8A & 8B - Hi, everyone. Overall, good work in class today. Everyone completed the non-fiction article pretest. We will be using both NewsELA and TweenTribune this quarter.
Most of you showed me your MAP Practice, too! If you did not show the practice, that EASY practice grade is losing points as the days pass! Show me your work as soon as possible. Homework: Independent Reading -- read your book EVERYDAY! Due Next Tuesday, Jan. 31 -- MAP Practice #2 |
