8A & 8B - Hi, everyone. Nice classes today. You all worked well individually. I hope being able to do the individual work every cycle will allow you to work more on the specific skills you need. Remember to always have your Independent Reading book in class. You will read when you finish your individual practices.

Hi, everyone. Great classes today. In both we looked for Independent Reading books and practiced using LearnZillion to strengthen our individual reading and language weaknesses. Next week you will be doing one of these practices on your own. Homework: Read a minimum of 1 chapter or 20 pages (whichever is LONGER) of your Independent Reading book. Hello, everyone! It is good to have you all back and some new faces, too! Our first class we spent time reviewing our MAP scores and looking at our strengths and weaknesses. Next class we will learn how to use LearnZillion as well as other sources to work individually to strengthen our weaknesses. If you have not already signed up for your class, please go to the correct link below, find your name, and follow the directions. *Be sure to sign up as a STUDENT!

Many of you are really getting the hang of these different types of poetry. What you need to focus on for your final drafts of your two chosen poems is LANGUAGE. Use a thesaurus to help you find the perfect verbs, adjectives, and nouns.
8 -- Well, we made it through A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley! Monday we will finish one of the many movie versions, The Muppet Christmas Carol. Be ready to write about a theme in the story and use evidence from these specific versions. Have a good weekend.
7 -- Nice work today with prepositions. I know most of you are getting the hang of them. If you are still having trouble, there is Open Door tomorrow duing first recess. Remember, you have until tomorrow at the end of the day to rework or complete Formative lessons 27 and 28.
8B -- Hi, everyone. Good work with the teleplay today. Some of you really got into your roles! Here is the link to the Twighlight Zone episode based on the teleplay. Next class we will begin the next play, A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley. Remember that the GrammarFllip/Formative lesson is due on Thursday. Also, be sure that you are reading your Independent Reading book each day. Your final project is due on December 12!
7B -- Hey, everone. You all did really well with the parts of speech today! I was really impressed with your scores on the Kahoot game! The idea is that this activity will help you with your writing and in the future as we look at more types of sentences.

7A -- Hello, everyone. Nice patience with the poetry notes today. I can't wait to start reading some of your work when we start writing on Friday! Remember that the three lessons of GrammarFllip/Formative are due on Friday. Also, be sure that you are reading your Independent Reading book each day. Your final project is due on December 13!
7 -- Good afternoon, everyone. I hope that many of you now better understand some of the language lessons you have been working on with GrammarFlip. We will continue our stations tomorrow. If you want to recuperate any of your GrammarFlip grades, you need to sign up for Open Door or Indie Time for next Monday. You will need to do the recuperation in class on paper.
8 -- Hi, everyone. I really enjoyed seeing some of your acting skills in class today. I am looking forward to seeing more of it as we move farther into this unit. ***Remember DUE TODAY GrammarFlip and Formative activity: Lesson 48 - Dialogue Rough draft of your narrative
8 -- Hi, everyone. You now have some notes on ways to develop your writing and add more information, details, and interest: D.R.A.P.E.S. When you are reviewing your work, think about what parts of D.R.A.P.E.S. you can use. Your revised draft is due submitted to this form no later than 6:30 p.m. Friday. You can also find the form on Rediker under our links. 7 -- Good work on your narratives. Today you should have further developed your story using sensory language, transitions, vivid verbs, awesome adjectives, and literary devices. Your slideshow is due on Tuesday when you come to class. 7 -- Good afternoon, everyone. Great work in class today. You all wored well with simple sentences. If you are having trouble with GrammarFlip or Formative, you must come and see me during an Open Door or other available time outside of class. Please do that soon, so you are not behind on the work. For next class you need minimum of 1/2 of your story typed, so we can begin the review and revision process. I know this week has been hectic with the short classes and Halloween practices, but find 10 minutes to write a paragraph each day over the next few days. If you do that, you will have what you need for next class.
8 -- Hi, everyone. Yesterday was short, but we still accomplished quite a bit. If you did not submit your prewrite, you need to do that now. Go to the form on Rediker to submit your work. Remember, your 1st typed rough draft is due Tuesday. Please have it available to share with a peer for review.
7 -- Good afternoon, everyone. Nice classes today! Now in your notebook you should have Cornell notes on characters and the parts of plot. Be sure to complete the activities for each part of your notes. If you did not sign in to GrammarFlip and join your class, you need to do that before we meet again. You can find the information on how to sign up in Rediker under links or in our shared folder.
